Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Java Developer based in Canada to design, build, and operate scalable backend services powering real-time logistics and courier payments. You’ll own the backend lifecycle from data modeling to production support, using Java with Quarkus/Spring Boot, and modern JVM frameworks in an Agile setting.

Responsibilities include architecting event-driven architectures with Kafka, SQS, and SNS, and building robust APIs with gRPC/GraphQL.

Qualifications

• Five+ years building and operating scalable backend services.
• Strong Java with Quarkus or Spring Boot experience.
• Expertise in event-driven architectures and messaging systems.
• DDD concepts: bounded contexts, sagas, eventual consistency, outbox patterns.
• Relational and NoSQL databases; caching and data modeling skills.
• Cloud deployment on AWS/Azure with Kubernetes.
• CI/CD and IaC tooling; GitOps practices.
• Observability with Datadog or similar; load testing experience.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and agents.
• Collaborative, mentorship-focused with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services in Java.
• Architect event-driven systems with Kafka, SQS, and SNS.
• Implement distributed patterns and robust data models.
• Develop and maintain REST/gRPC/GraphQL APIs and service integrations.
• Manage cloud deployments on AWS/Azure with Kubernetes.
• Strengthen delivery via CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps pipelines.
• Improve observability, performance, and reliability through monitoring.
• Mentor teammates and participate in design reviews.
