Job summary

PetroChina Canada is seeking a Senior IT System Administrator to oversee comprehensive IT/OT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and access management. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and compliance across cloud and on-premises environments.

The candidate will manage Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and Microsoft 365, plus backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Extensive experience with VMware, NetApp, and enterprise storage is required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years hands-on IT/OT infrastructure experience.
• Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization, Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Experience with NetApp storage, backup/recovery solutions (Commvault, Veeam, Azure Backup).
• Familiarity with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop and NetScaler.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online.

Responsibilities

• Manage and secure IT/OT server and storage infrastructure across multiple environments.
• Administer Active Directory and Azure Entra ID lifecycle, access reviews, and SSO federation.
• Monitor system health and performance; respond to alerts and incidents.
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery processes and perform regular restoration tests.
• Collaborate on security, audit readiness, and patch management.
• Document configurations, changes, and procedures for compliance.
