Job summary

PetroChina Canada is seeking an experienced Senior IT System Administrator to manage and secure the IT/OT infrastructure, including servers, storage, AD/Azure Entra, backup systems, and Microsoft 365.

The role covers hybrid cloud/on-prem environments, training, and disaster recovery planning. 10+ years in IT with VMware/NetApp/backup tech is required, with focus on reliability, compliance, and support for meeting room IT equipment.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in IT-related field; 10+ years hands-on IT experience required.
Strong experience with VMware, NetApp, Commvault, Veeam, and cloud backups (Azure/AWS).
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 stack including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online; hybrid Exchange setup.

Responsibilities

Manage comprehensive IT and OT infrastructure for reliability, security, and compliance.
Administer servers, storage, virtualization, and backups across cloud and on-prem environments.
Oversee user accounts lifecycle (AD, Azure Entra ID), access reviews and SSO troubleshooting.
Monitor and inspect systems regularly; respond to alerts; maintain change records and docs.
Support backup and recovery systems (Commvault, Veeam, Azure Backup) and disaster recovery planning.
Provide security & compliance support; patching and vulnerability management.
Administer Microsoft 365 suite and hybrid Exchange; manage licenses and policies.
Oversee meeting room IT equipment lifecycle and AV devices; coordinate upgrades.
