The Senior IT Strategic Consultant is a senior technical leadership role for the Solution Delivery team that represents technology for major line of business areas across multiple entities to support business initiatives and corporate objectives. The main focus of this role is to facilitate the strategic planning, evaluation, design and evolution of software solutions within the assigned business areas, and to provide business and technical oversight to ensure these solutions meet client and company expectations, as well as fit within and integrate with defined Enterprise Architectural standards and direction.

How you will create impact:

• Actively participate in the business and technology capability modeling, road-mapping, and planning processes
• Analyze trends in the assigned business area and determine their potential impact on the business area.
• Oversee solution investigation and solution deliverables including optimal resource utilization; developing project initiations/feasibility studies/proposals which include vision, objectives, scope, approach, and project priorities; and leading stakeholders and key team members through project planning activities such as developing a detailed project schedule, resource plan, communication plan and project budget.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with project sponsors, steering committee members, project stakeholders, key systems users, and project team, acting as primary point of contact with business clients and other internal and external stakeholders connected to the project including vendor partners.
• Performing technology planning to create vison for applications, strategies, and ensures technology is compliant with standards and architectural decisions.
• Translating strategic requirements into a usable solution architecture, which will then be used to guide enterprise solution development and achieve consistency.
• Evaluate the feasibility of enterprise architecture concepts and determine practical approaches to implement and meet the business needs.
• Providing senior-level consultation and support to technology delivery teams on various tasks related to application integrations or systems development.
• Influence and raise awareness to the overall enterprise IT direction and support the line of business’ ability to leverage this direction.

To join our team:

• Minimum 10 years progressive industry IT experience and experience supporting application solution architectures on large initiatives from a business perspective
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven experience in multiple disciplines related to the delivery of complex enterprise applications, such as conceptual architecture, application architecture, application development, system integration, development methodologies, testing, and deployment.
• Previous experience working in a similar role in the insurance industry
• Must be TOGAF certified or willing to obtain the certification
