Job description

The Wilder Institute / Calgary Zoo is seeking a full-time permanent Senior Infrastructure Analyst to join our Information Technology team. Reporting to the Senior Enterprise Architect, IT, the Senior Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for defining, implementing, and enhancing information technology infrastructure (servers, network, security) which support the operations of the organization.

What you will do :
  1. Define, select, design, and implement new systems / technologies.
  2. Identify, initiate, execute/implement, and support significant initiatives (e.g., $100k+, teams of 5+, greenfield projects).
  3. Develop and execute systems testing and deployment plans.
  4. Create Business Cases and Cost / Benefit analyses for decision-making.
  5. Monitor technology infrastructure (server, network) and troubleshoot/resolve issues.
  6. Manage Help Desk tickets, provide in-depth T2 support for infrastructure and end-user devices.
  7. Configure and implement new technology, repair or replace existing hardware/software.
  8. Improve internal processes such as Operations monitoring, SLA Reporting, Cybersecurity, Disaster Recovery, and Outage management.
  9. Mentor and guide the IT team.
What you will bring :
  1. Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; other combinations of education/experience considered.
  2. 10-20 years’ experience in Information Technology.
  3. Certifications such as ITIL, MCSA, Fortinet NSE, Nutanix NCP preferred.
  4. Knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies including server, network, security, cloud, storage.
  5. Familiarity with Retail, Non-Profit/Public, or Entertainment sectors preferred.
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  7. Dedicated to finding and implementing the best solutions.
Working Conditions :
  1. Sitting at a desk, using a personal computer for long periods.
  2. Willingness to work various hours, including weekends and evenings.
  3. Lifting and moving equipment such as servers, computers, screens.

The Wilder Institute / Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility; staff must be comfortable working in various outdoor conditions, following Environment Canada's guidance on temperature and air quality.
