Job summary

General Dynamics Mission SystemsCanada is seeking a Senior Human Factors Engineering Analyst to join our Ottawa team. You will lead HFE activities, serve as a technical authority, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, usable systems for defence programs.

The role requires a relevant degree, 10+ years in HFE, and accreditation or eligibility for CCPE/CPE/CHFP and CIEHF. Security clearance is a condition of employment, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field with substantial human-factors coursework.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in human factors or related areas.
• CCPE, CPE, or CHFP accreditation or ability to obtain it.
• CIEHF membership or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead HFE activities across programs, define objectives, methods, deliverables, schedules.
• Act as HFE technical authority, review work and reflect risks and lifecycle needs.
• Conduct task analyses, workload and usability assessments, and human-performance work.
• Translate findings into requirements, models, use scenarios, and reports.
• Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, safety, and verification teams.
• Maintain traceability using IBM DOORS and PTC Windchill PDMLink.
• Apply MIL-STD-1472 and ISO/ANSI standards in HFE content.
• Mentor practitioners and develop reusable HFE methods and templates.
