Job description

Compensation : $100,000.00 to $130,000.00 yearly

We are currently working on an exciting Senior HR Manager role with a global construction firm located in Vancouver. This opportunity oversees over 500 employees in BC within a unionized environment.

This position will lead human resources in BC. The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience leading in a unionized environment, understand BC Employment Law, conduct Bullying & Harassment investigations, manage workplace injury accommodations, and mentor several leaders across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Main HR point of contact in BC Region
  • Manage a portfolio of 500+ employees across BC
  • Handle compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and relocation support
  • Advise management on BC Employment Law
  • Mediate work-related issues at all levels
  • Provide accurate HR counsel to the area’s executive team
  • Guide on policies including interpretation and discipline
  • Develop short-term and long-term business strategies
  • Ensure effective training and development opportunities meet business needs
  • Manage employee relations issues effectively
  • Coordinate projects, compliance, testing, reporting, and facilitate problem solving and resolution

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work 100% onsite
  • 5-10 years of local experience in a unionized HR environment
  • Must drive and have own vehicle; occasional site visits are required
  • Experience within production and manufacturing sectors
  • Labor Relations knowledge
  • Understanding of BC Employment Standards
  • Knowledge of Respect in the Workplace strategies
  • Experience handling Bullying & Harassment investigations
  • Experience with workplace injury accommodations
  • Ability to work with different corporate levels, understanding that progress may be gradual
  • Excellent writing skills
