Job description

Just HRis recruiting for aSenior Manager, Human Resourcesto lead HR operations for a complex, service-driven business with a diverse and mobile workforce based in Richmond, BC. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll help shape HR strategy for a fast growing capital intensive business. Your mandate is will be to ensure the day-to-day employee experience remains strong and compliant. The successful candidate will bring a balanced mix of hospitality insight, labour relations expertise, and the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of HR strategy and execution for a workforce of approximately 200+ employees
  • Partner closely with operational leaders to support team effectiveness, engagement, and workforce planning
  • Manage labour relations, including union contract administration, grievances, and negotiations
  • Provide guidance and oversight on recruitment, onboarding, and workforce transitions
  • Promote and maintain HR compliance with employment standards, policies, and collective agreements
  • Implement programs that drive employee engagement, retention, and performance
  • Act as a trusted advisor to management on people-related issues and risk mitigation
  • Lead or support workplace investigations, ensuring fair outcomes and proper documentation
  • Review and optimize HR processes, documentation, and system use for improved efficiency
  • Deliver training and coaching to leaders and employees on HR policies and best practices
  • Monitor workforce trends and provide insights to senior leadership for proactive planning
  • Support coordination with internal teams to promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles within service-based or hospitality environments
  • Solid background in unionized settings, with direct experience managing labour relations matters
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, operationally focused environment
  • Strong working knowledge of BC employment law, human rights legislation, and collective agreements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience supporting large, shift-based teams with varying workforce needs
  • Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and HR process optimization
  • HR designation (CPHR or equivalent) is preferred
  • Must be able to work on-site in Richmond on a daily basis

Remuneration:

  • Base Salary: $110K - 135K, plus bonus
