Senior HR Business Partner

About You and the Role

At Humani, we are a team of modern HR professionals leading with a growth mindset. The Senior HR Business Partner will be the primary contact for multiple clients across various industries and jurisdictions. The ideal candidate can manage complex people and culture issues, providing tailored solutions. You should have a broad knowledge of HR employment law across provinces, excellent client and project management skills, and the ability to guide organizations through change. We seek a strategic, process-oriented, and operationally driven self-starter.

Note: This position is based in Toronto with a hybrid work model, involving remote work and onsite support at client sites. Travel may be required.

What You Will Do
  • Act as the primary HR Business Partner for multiple clients.
  • Analyze current HR programs and design tailored HR roadmaps.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with jurisdictional standards.
  • Align HR agendas with labor law requirements.
  • Develop and review HR policies and procedures.
  • Leverage data analytics to inform business decisions.
  • Manage complex compensation projects, designing plans based on market data.
  • Review and implement HR software and processes.
  • Develop and review performance management processes.
  • Handle employee relations issues.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to management and employees.
  • Create and deliver HR training sessions.
  • Participate in virtual meetings with clients' executives and staff.
  • Serve as the relationship manager between Humani and clients' C-Suite.
Your Skill Set
  • Employment Law & Legislation: Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law across multiple provinces; union/labor relations experience is a plus.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess situations, determine solutions, and analyze data for decision-making.
  • Time Management: Effectively manage time to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Responsiveness & Flexibility: Be available and adaptable to client needs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to influence and tailor messages.
  • Self-Motivation & Discipline: Work independently with minimal oversight, providing full service to clients.
  • Organizational Skills: Be organized and efficient in problem-solving and implementation.
  • Creativity: Think outside the box and handle diverse situations innovatively.
  • Unionized work experience is an asset.
Who You Are
  • 10+ years of progressive, client-facing HR experience.
  • Self-starter with excellent project management and attention to detail.
  • Experience building HR systems and processes from scratch.
  • Fast learner with high-quality output.
  • Proficient with technology, especially Google Workspace or similar tools.
  • Experience in relationship management, supporting or leading teams.
  • Knowledge of current HR practices and market trends.
  • Change management experience is a plus.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities and implementing solutions.
