Job summary

Stantec in Atlantic Canada is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to lead groundwater projects including supply development and mining baselines, with a focus on protecting water resources. You will work with a multidisciplinary team and be involved in field programs, modeling, and client communications.

Minimum 7 years in consulting or regulatory environments, a Master’s in hydrogeology, and current professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in hydrogeology or related field.
• 7+ years in consulting or regulatory hydrogeology.
• Existing professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Promote health and safety culture and participate in Stantec's HSE program.
• Develop project budgets, determine scope, and establish schedules.
• Plan, coordinate, and support field programs for hydrogeological studies including drilling, well construction, testing oversight, groundwater sampling, and water level monitoring.
• Develop conceptual hydrogeologic models and understanding.
• Review field information from investigations; prepare reports with interpretations of hydrogeological conditions.
• Interpret aquifer tests and characterize aquifers using maps and spatial data.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on baseline and impact assessment projects, groundwater and surface water assessments, models, and contaminant investigations.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations; perform QA/QC of documents/deliverables.
• Travel to field sites; overnight travel sometimes required.
• Contribute to business development activities and client relationship building.
• Provide supervision, training, technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
