Job summary

Tradewin seeks a Senior Consultant to develop opportunities in customs from our Canadian and international offices. You will work closely with clients, staff, the CBSA and other government agencies to deliver accurate HS classifications and rulings while expanding client relationships.

Responsibilities include interpreting customs regulations, preparing rulings, and coordinating with CBSA, clients, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• CCS or CTCS preferred
• Canadian Customs Broker License or willingness to obtain
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an international trade environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, CRM
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Investigative and logical documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification of imported products
• Researching and interpreting Customs rulings for HS classification determination
• Prepare, submit and manage binding classification ruling requests to the CBSA
• Working knowledge of Customs Valuation and its interpretation
• Understanding of international trade agreements and Canadian export regulations
• Experience with CBSA CARM Client Portal and client communications
• Mentor and guide junior team members
• Engage with domestic and international clients and maintain relationships
• Contribute to sales process including client meetings and presentations
