Job summary
AtkinsRéalis in Montreal, QC, seeks a seasoned GIS professional to contribute to remote sensing, LiDAR data interpretation, and site investigations for major infrastructure projects. You will define analysis methods, produce 2D/3D geospatial deliverables, and support technical decisions with clear, evidence-based recommendations.
The role requires a Bachelor's in geomatics or related field, at least five years of experience with LiDAR and drone imagery, and strong ArcGIS Pro skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in geomatics, geography, remote sensing, earth sciences, engineering, environmental science, or related discipline.
Responsibilities
- Define and document analysis methods, acceptance criteria, and quality control for LiDAR data, point clouds, drone imagery, and remote sensing products.
- Interpret LiDAR data and imagery to assess terrain, drainage, vegetation, and site conditions.
- Perform terrain analyses using DEMs, slopes, profiles, contours, and derived products.
- Assess data coverage, resolution, accuracy, classification, spatial referencing, and fitness for project needs.
- Compare remote sensing data with survey and design data to identify discrepancies.
- Develop technical recommendations and communicate findings, limitations, and risks to teams.
