• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online to publish scene layers, imagery, or 3D content.
• Strong ability to optimize 3D and raster data for visualization in ArcGIS applications.
• Proficiency in French or English; bilingualism is an asset for collaboration in Quebec and Canada.

• Integrate LAS/LAZ files, point clouds, orthomosaics, DEMs into ArcGIS Pro.
• Create and maintain LAS datasets, mosaic datasets, elevation layers, and 3D scenes.
• Publish scene layers and imagery/elevation services in ArcGIS Enterprise or Online.
• Optimize data for visualization, including pyramids and LODs.
• Validate projection, extent, resolution, and data quality before integration.
• Produce visualizations like profiles, hillshades, slopes, contours, and elevation surfaces.
• Organize data and published products per naming, metadata, and governance standards.
• Troubleshoot publishing or spatial reference issues with GIS admins.
• Document methods, settings, and data-use constraints.

Job description

Overview

As part of the National GIS Group, you will contribute to the ALTO project's LiDAR and drone imagery activities. Working with GIS, engineering, design, and environmental teams, you will integrate processed LiDAR data, point clouds, and imagery products into the ArcGIS environment to create, manage, and publish 2D and 3D content. This position does not involve primary processing of raw LiDAR data or photogrammetric production.

Your role

• Integrate LAS/LAZ files, classified point clouds, orthomosaics, digital elevation models, and other processed LiDAR or imagery products into ArcGIS Pro.
• Create, configure, and maintain LAS datasets, mosaic datasets, elevation layers, and local or global scenes.
• Prepare and publish scene layers, elevation services, imagery services, and other 3D content in ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online.
• Optimize data for visualization and use in maps, web scenes, and ArcGIS applications, including through appropriate pyramids, indexes, and levels of detail.
• Perform the required technical checks on projection, extent, resolution, classification, coverage, units, and consistency of received products before integration.
• Produce visualizations and derived products suited to project needs, such as profiles, hillshades, slopes, contours, and elevation surfaces.
• Organize source data and published products in accordance with the project's naming, metadata, structure, and governance standards.
• Troubleshoot display, performance, spatial reference, or publishing issues and work with ArcGIS administrators to resolve them.
• Document integration methods, publishing settings, completed checks, and data-use limitations.

About you

• A college diploma or bachelor's degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geography, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience is required, including at least two years of hands-on experience integrating LiDAR data, point clouds, or drone imagery within a GIS environment.
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online to prepare, share, and publish scene layers, imagery services, elevation services, or 3D web content.
• Experience optimizing 3D and raster data for efficient visualization and delivery in ArcGIS applications.
• Knowledge of Python, ModelBuilder, or FME for automating integration and validation tasks is considered an asset.
• Good understanding of LAS/LAZ formats, classified point clouds, orthomosaics, digital terrain and surface models, and coordinate systems.
• Strong proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, including LAS datasets, mosaic datasets, elevation layers, 3D scenes, and raster and 3D analysis tools.
• Excellent technical skills in structuring, integrating, validating, and delivering 2D and 3D geospatial data.
• Ability to assess the quality and fitness for use of processed LiDAR and imagery products without performing primary processing of raw data.
• Ability to collaborate with data providers and multidisciplinary teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with GIS, design, environmental, engineering, and systems administration teams.
• Thoroughness and attention to detail in data configuration, quality control, and service publishing.
• Self-reliance, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple requests in a multidisciplinary project environment.
• Communication skills to document methods, explain data constraints, and recommend practical solutions.
• Proficiency in French or English; French-English bilingualism is a significant asset because of collaboration with teams in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.
