Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a senior geotechnical engineer to assist the Geotechnical project lead on rail transit projects in Ontario. You will provide technical leadership to engineers, oversee design analyses, field investigations and professional reports.

The role requires an Ontario PE with 15+ years in geotechnical consulting, strong foundations experience, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, budgets and timelines while maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (PEO) with 15+ years in geotechnical consulting.
• Experience designing foundations for major infrastructure (airport, bridge, rail transit) in Ontario.
• Knowledge of CFEM, CHBDC, OPSS, OBC and related standards.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams and mentoring staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication for client and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with site reviews during conceptual, investigation and construction phases.
• Experience in project management with scope, schedule, budget, safety and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership of a team of engineers.
• Provide oversight of design analyses and field investigation plans.
• Project management for geotechnical investigations and designs including scope, schedule, cost control.
• Liaise with other disciplines on joint proposals and projects.
• Conduct site reviews during all project phases.
• Coordinate with clients, government/regulatory bodies and contractors.
• Mentor staff and provide geotechnical design training.
