Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Kimberley to lead investigations, design foundations for heavy infrastructure and mining projects, and assess slope stability. The role requires strong soil and rock mechanics knowledge, with significant field and report-writing responsibilities.

You will mentor junior staff, liaise with clients and regulators, and ensure compliance with applicable standards while contributing to project execution and business development in the Northern

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical specialization.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 7 years of geotechnical experience in infrastructure and mining.
• Proficiency with PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLOPE/W and SEEP/W.
• Strong report writing, communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within the Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and interpret detailed geotechnical investigations for diverse project types.
• Provide expert foundation design for large civil and mining structures.
• Perform slope stability, seepage and settlement assessments.
• Develop ground improvement designs where required.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, recommendations and risk assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers and liaise with clients and regulators.
