Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join a prominent mining group in Kimberley, BC. You will lead mine planning, optimize operations, and ensure safe, efficient resource extraction while working with geology and operations teams.

A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering is required with 10+ years in mine operations and planning (underground/open-pit). P.Eng registration is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mine operations and planning.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in mine planning software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac).
• Deep understanding of rock mechanics, mine design, and blasting techniques.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor integrated mine plans and production schedules.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects and expansions.
• Optimize mine design, sequencing, and methods for safety and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with mining legislation, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Supervise and mentor mining engineers and technical staff.
• Collaborate with geological, processing, and maintenance teams for seamless operations.
