Job summary

Klohn Crippen Berger seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Fredericton team. You will lead planning, investigation, design, and construction of tailings and water dams for mining clients, with opportunities to mentor staff and advance project leadership across global sites.

The role requires a civil/geotechnical degree, 10+ years of experience, P.Eng eligibility in Canada, and proficiency in PLAXIS, FLAC, and SLOPE/W. Travel domestically and internationally is expected.

Qualifications

• A degree in civil or geotechnical engineering; a master's degree is an asset.
• 10+ years of relevant civil/geotechnical experience, preferably mining.
• Eligible to register as a professional engineer (P.Eng) in Canada.
• Working knowledge of geotechnical software packages PLAXIS, FLAC, and SLOPE/W.
• General understanding of mining regulations and industry best practices.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills with demonstrated report writing.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design tailings storage facilities for global mining projects.
• Participate in dam safety inspections and reviews, and develop dam safety systems.
• Mentor and train junior staff in TSF design methodologies.
• Act as a senior technical resource for mine waste project delivery.
• Build client rapport as projects progress from feasibility to closure.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines for well‑rounded solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
• Attend conferences and trainings to expand knowledge.
