Job summary

Klohn Crippen Berger in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead civil/geotechnical designs for mine waste facilities and allied water management projects. The role focuses on tailings dams, waste storage, and dam safety, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and collaborate across disciplines.

You will engage clients, supervise field programs, and deliver technical reports, with hybrid work options and a path for professional growth within a global practice.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or geotechnical engineering; master's degree is an asset.
• 10+ years of civil/geotechnical experience, preferably in mining.
• You must be eligible to register as a professional engineer in Canada.
• Experience in geohazard assessments, design, tendering, and construction administration.
• Proficiency with PLAXIS, FLAC and SLOPE/W.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/geotechnical design teams for mine waste projects.
• Collaborate within multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver mine waste solutions.
• Participate in dam safety inspections and development of dam safety systems.
• Mentor junior staff and build client relationships throughout project lifecycle.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
