Job summary

Vale Base Metals in Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Geologist to join the Mines Technical Services team at Totten Mine. The role supports production, resource development, geological modelling, and mine geology activities to optimize safe and efficient mining.

Reporting to the Chief Geologist, you will mentor junior geologists, develop models and wireframes, integrate drilling, sampling and production data, and contribute to short- and long-term mine planning while upholding QA/QC

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressive underground mining experience.
• Registration as a Professional Geoscientist (PGO) is required.
• Advanced knowledge of geological modelling, data QA/QC, and resource evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead grade control, ore delineation, and dilution control to support production.
• Develop, maintain, and improve geological models and wireframes for resource development and mine planning.
• Integrate geological, drilling, sampling, assay, and production data to support decision-making.
• Plan and evaluate exploration and resource definition drilling programs aligned with objectives.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and QA/QC compliance across databases.
