Job summary

Magna Mining Inc. in Sudbury, Ontario, seeks a Senior Geologist, Production to deliver sustainable and reliable geological services for underground operations at the Levack Mine. You will lead geological support, ensure safety, and collaborate across teams to optimize resource extraction.

Responsibilities include grade control, drilling programs, geologic modelling updates, and monthly reconciliations. The role requires extensive underground mining experience and professional geoscientist

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Geological Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Geoscientist designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain.
• 7 or more years of mineral exploration with a focus on underground mining operations.
• Sound knowledge of underground mining methods.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and safety practices in underground mining.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and perform grade control, geological mapping, orebody interpretation and resource definition practices and SOPs.
• Design and implement diamond drilling programs, core logging, sampling and QA/QC practices and procedures.
• Ensure geologic models, including short-term block modelling, are up-to-date and accurate; collaborate with exploration teams on near-mine drilling programs.
• Supervise and mentor geologists, technologists, and field personnel involved in production geology activities.
• Ensure production geology activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver monthly production reconciliation between mine and resource model.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports on geological performance, ore quality, and team KPI’s.
• Identify and implement improvements to geological processes and technologies.
• Work cross-functionally with mine planning, engineering, operations and metallurgy teams to optimize resource extraction.
• Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.

Job Description

Requirements

Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

• Post-secondary education in Geolog ical Sciences , Geological Engineering , or a related field.
