Job summary

RESPEC is seeking a Principal Geologist to provide technical leadership for mining projects, focusing on resource modeling, resource estimation, and QP oversight. Preference is given to candidates in Reno, NV, with Vancouver, BC and Saskatoon, SK also encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, drive project delivery, and support business growth while representing RESPEC at industry events and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in geology or geological engineering.
• 15–20 years in applied geology across the mining value chain with focus on modeling and estimation.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software and data analytics tools.
• Professional designation such as P.G./P.Geo (Canada) or CPG (AIPG).
• Strategic thinking and ability to set long-term direction.
• Experience with various commodities and deposit types.
• Strong business and commercial judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to complex mining projects with technical guidance to multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ensure project work meets client expectations, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support business development, proposal preparation and client relationship management.
• Recruiting and staff development initiatives; represent RESPEC at industry events and conferences.
