Job summary

Bird Construction seeks a General Superintendent to lead all field construction activities on large, complex Canadian projects in the Peel Region area. You will report to the Project Director and ensure work is executed safely, on time, and within budget while meeting quality requirements and client expectations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive construction experience with leadership on large projects.
• Experience delivering projects valued between $50M–$200M+.
• Ability to manage multiple site supervision teams and complex subcontractor scopes.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, construction sequencing, and field productivity management.
• Proven success delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, safety practices, and quality management systems.
• Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field construction activities on large and complex projects.
• Ensure safety, schedule, budget, and quality align with client expectations.
• Coordinate with Project Director, subcontractors, and field staff.
• Manage multiple site supervision teams and self-perform crews.
• Apply Lean Construction principles and Last Planner System methodologies where applicable.
• Utilize scheduling software and maintain project documentation.
