Job summary

Bird is seeking a General Superintendent - Industrial East to lead field construction on large industrial projects in Canada. You will drive safety, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations across multi-discipline teams on complex sites.

Reporting to the Project Director, you’ll mentor Superintendents and forepersons, manage unionized and non-union labor, and collaborate with clients, consultants and partners to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive construction experience with leadership on large projects.
• Experience leading projects valued between $50M and $200M+.
• Proven ability to manage multiple site supervision teams and complex subcontractor scopes.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, and field productivity management.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, safety practices, and quality management systems.
• Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead field construction activities on large, complex projects from $100M+ value.
• Direct multi-site supervision teams and subcontractors to meet schedules and budgets.
• Ensure safety, quality, and client expectations are achieved on site.
• Mentor Superintendents, Forepersons, and field staff for performance.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to drive project success.
