Job summary

Bird Construction in Calgary is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent to lead field operations on $10-25M commercial/institutional projects. You will supervise field staff and subcontractors, maintain schedule, monitor safety performance, and ensure quality workmanship while coordinating with the Project Manager to resolve issues.

You should have 5-10 years in a supervisory role, a trade background or Gold Seal is an asset, and strong proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Superintendent in commercial/institutional construction.
• Experience managing projects in the $10–$25M range.
• 5–10 years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to read contract drawings and specifications; strong problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership through Bird Safety Program and monitoring of safety performance of field staff and subcontractors; promote positive morale.
• Supervise and develop site team members through regular feedback, training and coaching; timely performance evaluations.
• Contribute to development and refinement of the project schedule.
• Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure proper execution.
• Identify and advise design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties; collaborate with Project Manager to resolve issues.
• Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance regarding safety and scope of work; ensure quality workmanship and materials.
• Ensure sufficient manpower to meet safety, schedule and quality objectives; maintain daily paperwork.
