Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior General Accountant to manage daily financial operations and ensure accuracy in our company’s accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts monthly.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with year-end closing processes and audits.

Payroll & Tax Support:

  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, including sales tax, income tax, and other regulatory filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.

Budgeting & Analysis:

  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.

Compliance & Internal Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and safeguard company assets.
  • Assist Director Accounting & Fin reporting with external audit queries.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support operational goals.
  • Respond to inquiries from management regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and accounting issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in full accounting cycle – including AR, AP Journal entries and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable recommendations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working towards a CPA
  • Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting requirements.
