Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Delta, BC, is seeking a Boiler Service Technician responsible for wiring, firing, and testing boilers in the field, including startup and maintenance of customer equipment.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, wiring controls, troubleshooting boilers, supporting projects, and adhering to safety and company policies; a Class A Gas ticket and five years of electrical, control, and boiler experience are required.

Qualifications

• Read schematics from diagrams and wiring plans.
• Possess knowledge and experience in hot water heating systems and controls.
• Class A Gas ticket is required.
• Must follow written and verbal instructions.
• Broad knowledge of boiler controls including Honeywell, Fireye, and Siemens.
• Mechanical and electrical background is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot boilers and auxiliary equipment.
• Ability to retrofit control systems in the field.
• Ability to troubleshoot systems without schematics.
• Five years’ experience in electrical, control, and boiler field.
• Backflow testing ticket preferred or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Wiring, firing, and testing boilers in the field.
• Startup and maintenance of customer equipment.
• Read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Troubleshoot, fire, and set combustion on boilers.
• Determine valve trim, regulator size, and parts needed.
• Maintain tools and monitor inventories.
• Work in team and independent environments.
• Adhere to company policies and cost-effective practices.
• Support other technicians and management on projects.
