Are you a self-directed, talented gameplay animator with production experience in Unreal and the skills to make gameplay look and feel amazing?

We’re seeking a skilled gameplay animator to help develop our original IP project from early concept through launch. If you dream of beautiful animation and engaging gameplay, and want to define the animation style for our next game, keep reading!

If you are a team player with excellent communication skills, a strong sense of accountability, and a desire to collaborate and learn during the early phases of a project, we’d love to talk with you!

Please note, relocation assistance or remote work within the United States may be available for this role.

Responsibilities

1. Support, collaborate, and innovate solutions to improve gameplay readability, storytelling, and design mechanics through animation with lean direction and support.
2. Understand and implement key-frame animation for characters, creatures, and other assets.
3. Focus on gameplay, rapidly prototype, and iterate to perfect gameplay feel.
4. Apply character, controls, and camera principles to both 1st and 3rd person views.
5. Create and maintain animation workflows and pipelines for action games, preferably shooters, using Maya/Max/Motion Builder, and implement in Unreal.
6. Bring 3+ years of game industry experience and at least 1 shipped title; portfolio preferred.
7. Develop and maintain animation documentation.
8. Share techniques and mentor team members.

Additional Skills and Experience

• Experience with character and facial rigging.
• Expertise in Unreal Engine, including anim blueprints, montages, and workflows.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Interest in new tools and technology such as mocap and latest Unreal features.

Preferred Skills

• Traditional animation skills.
• Mocap experience, including directing and cleanup.
• First-person animation experience.
• ‘T-shaped’ skills across game development areas like modeling, VFX, lighting, coding.
• Passion for multiplayer games (PvE and PvP).
• Modeling skills.
