Our Client
- Is a Canadian alternative investment company.
Responsibilities
- Support daily operations and analysis to ensure accurate NAV pricing, in coordination with a third-party fund accounting service, for both mutual and alternative investment vehicles.
- Contribute to regulatory reporting processes, including reviews of financial statements, quarterly disclosures, fund documentation, tax filings, and other compliance-related deliverables.
- Review fund accounting records and net asset value calculations.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of fund financial statements, including oversight of externally prepared documents.
- Maintain communication with internal teams and external stakeholders such as investment professionals, custodians, accounting service providers, and auditors.
- Manage fund-related tax documentation, including distributions and tax return preparation.
- Support the implementation of internal controls to protect fund assets, following financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborate on financial reporting, portfolio analysis, and the preparation of materials for marketing or internal use.
- Contribute to special projects and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation or equivalent professional certification is an asset.
- At least 3 years of experience in fund accounting or a related function.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting standards and a broad range of securities, including derivatives like options, futures, and swaps.
- Proficiency in SQL, along with experience using tools such as Python and Power BI.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and effective in managing deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills.
