About The Role

FTI Capital Advisors ("FTICA") is the special situations investment banking subsidiary of FTI Consulting. Teamed with the power of FTI Consulting's worldwide network of professionals, FTICA focuses on M&A advisory, capital raising, balance sheet restructuring, valuation and opinions, and strategic alternative analyses. The Associate / Senior Associate is responsible for supporting the entire lifecycle of a transaction, from initial evaluation to diligence, negotiations through closing.

We provide advisory services to companies, boards, private equity firms, lenders and other key stakeholders in complex and special situations.

What You'll Do

The Senior Associate will work with clients across various and diverse industries. Some of the job responsibilities will include:

  • Perform financial modelling and valuation analysis
  • Prepare presentation and marketing materials, including deal Teasers and CIMs
  • Conduct industry research, identify potential buyers/targets/investors
  • Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of clients
  • Provide recommendations on potential transactions
  • Manage investor due diligence
  • Support SMD/MDs in transaction negotiations
  • Develop investment banking analytical and transaction process skills

How You'll Grow

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in mergers & acquisitions, capital raising and financing strategies while working with leading industry professionals and diverse clients across various industries. The breadth and depth of the worldwide resources within FTI Consulting enables FTICA to combine its extensive C-suite relationships and deep industry expertise with investment banking and transaction execution experience when such relationships, knowledge and skills are critical to a transaction's outcome. Our team has an extensive track record of completing challenging engagements and providing unique solutions to our clients.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Science, Business or related discipline
  • 3 years of relevant post graduate working experience in a consulting or professional services firm
  • Understanding of financial statements and corporate functions
  • Ability to travel to FTI Offices and client sites as needed

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the Canada on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CFA or MBA
  • Experience in M&A, Transaction Services and/or Corporate Finance
  • Advanced Excel modelling and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent communication and client interface skills (verbal and written)
