Job summary

Citi in Mississauga, Canada is seeking an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst to contribute to design, development, and programming of enterprise applications. You will work across full-stack Java development, including Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and modern front-end tech like Angular/React, with MongoDB as the data layer.

Exposure to Python and Generative AI is highly desirable to support innovation, automation, and AI-driven business solutions.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant application development experience.
• Strong experience in Full Stack Java development, including Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and front-end technologies such as Angular, React, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including database design, indexing, aggregation pipelines, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience in systems analysis, design, development, and programming of enterprise software applications.
• Experience managing and delivering successful technology projects.
• Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and software engineering best practices.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, API integration, and cloud-based architectures.
• Exposure to Python development, data processing, automation, and Generative AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology assessments and develop new or revised applications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Full Stack Java applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and modern front-end tech.
• Develop and support MongoDB data solutions, including schema design and performance tuning.
• Monitor and control all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements to production support.
• Analyze complex problems, evaluate processes, and propose effective solutions.
• Recommend security measures and perform post-implementation reviews to ensure stability and compliance.
• Collaborate with business users, architects, and technology teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Contribute to API development, system integrations, and cloud-native architectures.
• Support modernization initiatives and explore Python automation and Generative AI where appropriate.
• Ensure coding standards and operational procedures are followed; mentor junior analysts and developers.
• Operate with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and team members.
• Assess risk in business decisions and escalate/report control issues with transparency.
