Job summary

Stantec is seeking a seasoned Senior Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team in Canada. This role balances robust Python backends with sophisticated frontends and AI-driven architectures, using Django or similar frameworks and modern UI stacks like Angular, HTMX, and Alpine.js.

You will design scalable web apps, implement end-to-end testing with PyTest and Playwright, and validate performance with Locust.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience.
Expert-level knowledge of Python and at least one mainstream framework (Django, FastAPI, or Flask).
Experience with Angular, HTMX, and Alpine.js for UI/UX.
Proven testing with PyTest, Playwright, and Locust.io.
Database expertise with Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL and performance tuning.
Experience with Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift.
Nice to have: experience with Java (JSF, ADF) or C# for migrations.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain robust, scalable web applications using Python (Django or similar).
Build dynamic interfaces using Angular or HTMX/Alpine.js for reactive workflows.
Develop and maintain end-to-end tests with PyTest and Playwright; implement load testing with Locust.
Optimize and manage large databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL) for performance.
Deploy and manage apps in private containers using OpenShift or Kubernetes.
Incorporate AI-driven workflows and agents to enhance automation and UX.
