Job summary

Stantec is seeking a seasoned Senior Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team in Toronto, combining robust Python backends with modern frontends and AI-driven architectures.

You will design scalable web applications using Django or similar frameworks, build dynamic interfaces with Angular or HTMX/Alpine.js, and contribute to testing, deployment, and performance tuning in private containerized environments like OpenShift or Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expert-level Python with Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Front-end: Angular, HTMX, and Alpine.js experience.
• Testing: PyTest, Playwright, Locust.io experience.
• Database: Oracle, MS-SQL Server, and PostgreSQL expertise.
• Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience with Java (JSF, ADF) or C# a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain robust, scalable web apps using Python (Django or similar).
• Build dynamic UIs with Angular or HTMX/Alpine.js for reactive workflows.
• Develop end-to-end tests with PyTest and Playwright; load testing with Locust.io.
• Manage large-scale databases: Oracle, MS-SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Deploy and manage apps in private containerized environments: OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Incorporate LLMs and autonomous agents to enhance automation and UX.
