Job summary

ThoughtStorm in Toronto, Canada, is seeking a senior Java developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience to build large-scale production-grade business applications and REST APIs.

You will work on full-stack development, architecture, and data/reporting modernization using WebFOCUS or equivalent BI tools, with Azure and CI/CD pipelines. Strong SQL and Agile/Scrum expertise required; experience in public-sector environments is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Java development in large-scale, production-grade business applications and REST APIs.
• Strong experience with Full Stack development, solution architecture, REST APIs, SQL, and relational databases.
• Proven ability to reverse engineer and re-platform existing reporting/business logic, including WebFOCUS or equivalent BI/reporting platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, application deployment/support, and Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, database design, query/report logic refactoring, and migration of existing reporting solutions into modern applications.
• 5+ years of Agile/Scrum experience; ability to work independently and deliver production-ready solutions with minimal supervision.
• Experience in public-sector environments, AODA/accessibility standards, Power BI or Databricks is an asset.
