Job summary

ThoughtStorm Inc. in Toronto seeks a senior enterprise software developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, and legacy .NET 3.5/4.x to modernize existing applications.

You will lead modernization efforts, decomposing monoliths into modular services and REST APIs with JWT/OAuth2 security, while optimizing SQL Server performance in Azure environments and applying DevOps practices.

Job description

10+ years of hands-on enterprise software development using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, and legacy .NET Framework 3.5/4.x, including modernization of existing applications.

Strong experience with legacy application modernization, including decomposing monolithic applications into modular services, APIs, or microservices and executing phased migrations with minimal business disruption.

Advanced REST API development and integration, including JWT, OAuth2, authentication/authorization, dependency injection, API security, and enterprise backend architecture.

Strong Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL expertise, including stored procedures, views, triggers, indexing, complex query optimization, execution plans, database performance tuning, and data-access optimization.

Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience with Azure App Service, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage, Event Hub, Azure Data Explorer (ADX), Key Vault, Application Insights, and Azure Monitor.

Strong Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD and automated deployment experience, including Azure Repos/GitHub, release management, application monitoring, and DevOps practices.

Experience developing high-performance, multithreaded and asynchronous applications, with expertise in parallel processing, scalability, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across application, database, and cloud layers.

Strong software architecture and solution design capabilities, including OOP, design patterns, DDD, API-first design, event-driven architecture, integration patterns, modular/loosely coupled architecture, Agile/Scrum, secure coding, and code reviews.

Experience with production troubleshooting, testing and secure development, using tools such as KQL, Postman, SoapUI, Swagger/OpenAPI, IIS, application logs and database diagnostics. Healthcare integration experience with HL7, FHIR and Mirth Connect is desirable, particularly for healthcare-system modernization.
