Job summary

Benevity is seeking a Senior Fraud Operations Analyst to join our security team. You’ll monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and guide junior analysts while shaping fraud prevention strategy.

Leverage AI/ML and automation, develop runbooks, and coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Non-Profits teams to strengthen detection and response. This role offers a flexible hybrid work model across Canada and the US, protecting billions in transactions between clients and non-profits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in security operations, incident response, or fraud operations.
• Hands-on experience with security tooling such as EDR, SIEM, CSPM, WAF.
• Hands-on experience with Fraud tooling such as transaction monitoring, case management, identity verification, anomaly detection, and behavioral analytics platforms
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and NIST.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate security alerts from security tooling and responding to escalations from our MDR provider.
• Lead triage, root-cause analysis, and response activities during security incidents.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and runbooks.
• Support proactive threat hunting and continuous improvement of detection capabilities.
• Utilize AI enabled tooling and technology for fraud monitoring and security operations.
• Investigate fraud attempts such as: account takeovers, EFT mismatches, suspicious activity patterns.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Non-Profits Team and other teams to refine detection rules and workflows.
• Leverage automation and AI/ML models to improve fraud detection, security monitoring, and incident response.
• Provide mentorship to junior security and fraud analysts.
