Job summary

Viking Fire Protection Inc. is seeking a senior drafter to lead design on a marquee, multimillion-dollar fire protection project scheduled over five years. You will design automatic sprinkler systems, produce compliant drawings, and support project management.

Responsibilities include detailed CAD drawings, BIM coordination, field surveys, and coordination with engineers and trades. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD is essential; NFPA standards knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or Design or a high school diploma with equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of fire protection drafting experience.
• Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD; experience with Revit.
• Knowledge of HydraCAD is an asset.
• Familiarity with standards and codes governing design and installation of automatic fire protection systems.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Design automatic fire sprinkler systems and produce drawings that comply with current codes and standards.
• Support project management activities to ensure successful execution.
• Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD.
• Perform BIM coordination, 3D modeling, and participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Review and adjust drawings throughout the project lifecycle for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, installers and other trades.
• Identify material requirements and support procurement activities.
