The opportunity

  • Engage with clients in the discovery process and conduct analysis of raw financial information to provide industry leading comprehensive or modular financial plans.
  • Provide exceptional service and strong communication that ensures client retention and leads to client advocacy.
  • Through strong partnerships, provide fulsome support and expert guidance with

o Client Portfolio Managers to facilitate expanded relationships with existing and new clients.

o Key experts (legal, accounting, tax) and clients’ advisors to identify the best planning strategies to meet clients’ needs.

o Para-Planning Associates to create operational efficiency and enhance the financial planning experience.

  • Collaborate with client professional team to ensure plans are implemented properly and efficiently.
  • Follow and adhere to the standards set by the Firm’s financial planning framework and FP Canada Standards Council Standards of Professional Responsibility.
  • Implement programs and procedures to ensure administration is functioning effectively and complies with applicable policies and regulatory requirements in all areas.
  • Support the Firm’s training through the creation of financial planning materials; facilitate delivery by different means including webinars, conference calls, etc.
  • Actively support the brand and assist in, or lead, creation of client facing financial planning related materials (i.e. articles, documents, reports, blogs).
  • Proactively build solid working relationships with the entire Wealth and Financial Group including the Firm’s affiliate brands.

The successful incumbent will be an established Financial Planner whose focus is dedicated to building, fostering & sustaining meaningful client relationships. Passionate about working with High Net Worth (HNW) and business owner clients – you are motivated by using financial planning principles and strategies to develop tailored approaches to meet the complex financial needs of clients. Your reputation of ethical & professional behavior is well established. You demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, experience, and confidence to work with the clients and their professional advisors in the delivery of financial planning and product solutions. You have excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated passion for exceptional client service. You are deeply committed to continuous learning and development in financial planning and industry knowledge. You have been looking for the right opportunity!

Core knowledge requirements

  • University degree in a related discipline.
  • Confident and deep understanding of financial planning strategies for HNW and business owners; expert knowledge in tax, estate, and succession planning.
  • Ability to succeed in a dynamic environment arising from diverse responsibilities, complex processes, multiple stakeholders, and shifting deadlines by utilizing effective prioritization, planning, escalation, and teamwork.

Demonstrated experience

  • 10 years financial planning industry experience with 5 in a client facing Financial Planning role
