Job summary

Manulife Financial is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in Legal Entity Reporting (Public Markets) to support analysis and reporting of subsidiary financial statements. You will prepare board packages, regulatory filings, and coordinate external audits for US and Canadian subsidiaries, while advancing automation within Global WAM.

The role requires CPA proximity or designation, IFRS/US GAAP understanding, 3+ years in accounting or financial services, and strong Excel/Power BI skills.

Qualifications

• University degree and CPA designation (or working towards CPA)
• Understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP
• 3+ years in accounting, financial services, or consulting
• Experience with financial reporting tools: Infor/Lawson, Smart View/Essbase
• Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• High energy, initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI familiarity

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and reporting packages for US and Canadian subsidiaries
• Prepare variance commentary explaining changes QoQ and YoY
• Complete quarterly regulatory reporting for US and Canadian entities
• Lead financial statement preparation and coordinate annual external audits
• Collaborate with management, auditors and cross-functional teams on reporting and regulatory filings
• Develop and implement processes and controls for legal entity reporting and oversight of regulatory reporting
• Identify and address reporting, process or control issues and propose practical solutions
• Develop automation for manual processes within Global WAM
• Prepare memos for accounting policy changes and dividend projections
• Lead meetings with stakeholders to document processes and gather requirements
• Mentor junior staff and support their development and onboarding
