Job summary

Irving Oil is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the CFO and Saint John Refinery in driving cost performance and financial insight. You will analyze key cost drivers, lead forecasting, budgeting, and planning; partnering with Technical and Reliability teams to influence decisions and improve outcomes.

You will mentor analysts, deliver accurate reporting, and provide timely recommendations to optimize costs across operations and finance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum five years progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review regular financial deliverables for partners and finance leadership.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis.
• Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support decisions and performance.
• Coach and develop junior analysts through feedback and guidance.
• Produce and support quarterly reporting deliverables for the Board of Directors.
• Facilitate bi-weekly forecasting processes aligned with business objectives.
• Support execution, monitoring, and financial stewardship of strategic initiatives.
• Perform ad hoc analysis to address emerging business needs.
• Mentor junior and intermediate Financial Analysts.
