Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their team in the Greater Toronto Area. The role focuses on IFRS consolidation, financial reporting, and support for audits within a growing organization.

The candidate should be CPA-certified or pursuing CPA, with at least 3 years of experience in a large firm or public company. Strong Excel and MS Office skills are required, and residency in the GTA is essential.

• Strong IFRS knowledge including consolidation, financial statement and MD&A preparation, and public reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills required.
• You must reside in the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review consolidation and corporate entries in accordance with IFRS, including accruals, capitalized interest, mortgages, derivatives, and intercompany transfers.
• Support management in researching and applying accounting policies, and assist in developing accounting guidance for significant accounting issues and transactions.
• Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial statement package, including the balance sheet, income statement, KPIs and covenants.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly public reporting materials, including disclosures relating to debt, G&A, interest expense and other corporate accounts.
• Support the year end annual audit as well as quarterly reviews and represent a key point of contact for the audit team.
• Assist management with other ad-hoc projects as company grows, including acquisitions, process improvement within financial reporting, and financial system upgrades (Yardi).
• Support cash management and coordinate setup and approval of wire transfers/EFT related to acquisitions and operating expenses.

About the Opportunity

About You

• CPA, or working towards a CPA, with a minimum of 3 years of work experience, preferably in a large audit firm or public company environment
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, including consolidation, financial statement and MD&A preparation, and public reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; strong Excel skills required
• You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.

Salary Range

$80,000 - $100,000 / year
