Job summary

Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) invites applications for a Finance Manager, Operations. The role oversees the full accounting operations cycle, including AP/AR, cash flow management, and financial controls, with a focus on accurate reporting and compliance.

You will lead month-end close, budgeting, and audits, while driving system enhancements and data-driven insights for senior leadership. The position is hybrid and based near Ottawa, with travel to the head office as needed.

Qualifications

• CPA designation and relevant accounting education required.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years leading A/P and A/R functions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI/Query/DAX knowledge considered an asset.
• Experience with ERP, CRM (Workday a plus) systems for financial operations.
• Bilingual English/French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting operations cycle including AP, AR, cash management, and controls.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, budgeting, and audit coordination.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis for Finance & Audit Committee and Board.
• Ensure system security, access controls, and ongoing financial system improvements.
• Drive CRM/ERP integrations and data quality for reporting and decision-making.
• Develop and monitor key financial metrics; manage a Finance Operations team.
• Support membership and engagement metrics through financial reporting.
