Job summary

EBC Inc. is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to lead on-site Health & Safety for a large ICI construction project in North York. You will implement site safety programs, conduct inspections, investigations, and deliver training while coordinating with regulators, client reps and subcontractors.

The role requires a strong background in OHSA, enforced regulations, incident analysis, and mentorship of junior staff. A CRSP/CHSO/NCSO is preferred and security clearance may be needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of Health and Safety experience on ICI construction projects.
• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience on institutional facilities (hospitals, schools, government, transit).
• CRSP, CHSO, NCSO or equivalent is an asset.
• Ability to obtain a Level II Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, implement, and continuously improve the site-specific Health & Safety Program for a large or complex ICI construction project.
• Ensure full compliance with OHSA, Construction Projects Regulation, owner standards, and company policies.
• Conduct and oversee site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and field audits across multiple trades and high-risk activities.
• Act as primary contact for health & safety on site, including regulatory agencies and client safety reps.
• Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and advanced training for ICI hazards.
• Mentor junior safety staff, site supervisors, and subcontractors on best practices.
• Review and approve safe work procedures, lift plans, permits, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and site preparedness.
• Maintain and audit safety documentation, records, and reporting systems.
• Support WSIB claims management and modified duty planning.
