Job summary

BCES Global is seeking an experienced Fabrication and Shop Supervisor to lead our fabrication shop. This is a working supervisor role with approximately 75% hands-on fabrication and 25% coordination and leadership.

You are a senior fabricator or shop foreman known for guidance and training in the shop. You will oversee daily shop operations, coordinate schedules, translate drawings into fabrication plans, review design concepts, and mentor fabricators while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or electrical construction.
• Currently working as a Senior Fabricator, Lead Hand, or Shop Foreman, ready to take the next step into a formal supervisory role.
• Recognized as a go-to technical resource for troubleshooting, quality review, and training or mentoring other fabricators.
• Comfortable reviewing and influencing design and build flow, with an understanding of how decisions affect cost and schedule.
• Strong communication skills and a practical, hands-on leadership style.
• Red Seal or equivalent trade certification considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day shop operations on the floor with welding, fabrication, and assembly.
• Assign work and coordinate daily schedules based on project priorities.
• Translate engineering drawings into fabrication plans and shop workflows.
• Review design and engineering concepts from fabrication and build-flow perspectives.
• Serve as the go-to technical resource for troubleshooting and training.
• Support prototype development and transition designs into repeatable processes.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management to align materials and schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance, inspections, and repairs for fleet, tools, equipment, and facilities.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices and ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Provide day-to-day leadership including recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring staff.
• Communicate shop progress and risks to schedule, quality, and safety.
