Job Summary

We are seeking a visionary Events Manager to lead and expand the events portfolio at Grouse Mountain. With the Blue Grouse Gondola added in 2024, we can host high-volume events and additional festivals. Approaching our centennial next year, this milestone offers an opportunity to elevate our event offerings, significantly boosting revenue and traffic. We seek a creative and dynamic individual who thrives on conceptualizing and executing high-quality, large-scale events.

Essential Job Functions
  • Strategic Event Visioning & Planning — Architect a comprehensive, multi-year event strategy for Grouse Mountain, launching with the 2026 Centennial Celebration. Leverage market trends and guest insights to design experiences that drive long-term revenue growth, increase general admission traffic, and enhance brand equity.
  • Budget Leadership & Financial Stewardship — Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, and optimization of the events budget. Ensure disciplined financial management, ROI-driven decision-making, and resource reallocation based on performance analytics and evolving priorities.
  • Performance Analysis & Executive Reporting — Develop post-event evaluation frameworks. Deliver data-rich updates and strategic insights to senior leadership with clear recommendations for future initiatives and performance benchmarks.
  • Enterprise Communication & Stakeholder Alignment — Champion internal communications to ensure alignment across departments. Coordinate operational readiness for all events, enabling seamless execution across company functions.
  • Partnership Development & Stakeholder Relations — Build relationships with vendors, sponsors, and partners. Negotiate partnerships that amplify event reach, add value for attendees, and contribute to revenue and brand goals.
  • Integrated Marketing Collaboration — Act as the strategic liaison to Marketing and Communications. Co-develop campaigns that maximize visibility, drive attendance, and extend event lifecycles across digital, social, and traditional channels.
  • Signature & Seasonal Events Portfolio Oversight — Provide strategic direction for key events (e.g., Seek the Peak, Multi-Grind, Grouse Grind Mountain Run, Peak of Christmas, Easter, Bearthday Party, and others). Review the event mix annually to ensure alignment with brand and business priorities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position provides direct supervision to the Events Specialist.

Required Qualifications and Abilities
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, business or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in event management or a related role, with a proven track record of executing large-scale events
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team
  • Exceptional project management and financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Strong budget management and financial acumen
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with diverse teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards in fast-paced environments
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and deliver innovative event experiences
  • Experience working with vendors, sponsors and partners to drive event success
Working Conditions

Due to the nature of events, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. Work schedules may include a variety of start times, including weekends and statutory holidays.

Compensation and Benefits

85,000 to 95,000 annually
