Job summary

Insight Global in Calgary is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the full estimating process on commercial, institutional, and complex building projects. This role requires owning pursuits from start to finish, with focus on risk, pricing, and long-term profitability.

In-office 5 days a week, you will collaborate with operations leaders, project managers, and clients while mentoring junior estimators. The successful candidate will have extensive GC estimating experience and a deep understanding

Qualifications

• 7+ years of estimating experience in commercial, institutional, industrial, or building construction.
• Proven ability to independently lead complete project estimates from concept to bid.
• Strong understanding of labour productivity, material pricing, subcontractor procurement, equipment costing, and indirect costs.
• Experience with first-principles estimating methods and detailed quantity take-offs.
• Background in Construction Management, IPD, and Lump Sum projects.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with operations leaders, PMs, and clients.
• Experience working for a General Contractor and mentoring junior estimators.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full estimating process for commercial, institutional, and complex building projects.
• Own pursuits from concept through bid submission and support risk and pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with operations, project managers, and subs; refine estimates with detailed take-offs.
• Contribute to pursuit strategy, bid reviews, and client interviews; mentor junior staff.
