Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Estimator in Canada to lead multi‑discipline cost estimates for building and facility projects. You will coordinate cross‑discipline teams, develop schedules, and support design teams through major milestones.

This role involves travel and collaboration with clients across commercial, institutional, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. The ideal candidate has extensive estimating experience, proficiency with leading estimating tools, and the ability to mentor

Qualifications

• Extensive technical knowledge of cost/estimating, construction practice, and design.
• Experience estimating buildings and facilities across multiple sectors.
• Advanced understanding of contract methods and estimating methodologies.
• Experience with shared estimating platforms and scheduling software.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for site work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the development of multi‑discipline cost estimates and schedules.
• Develop detailed estimates for architectural systems, building envelope, interiors, finishes, and related components.
• Coordinate inputs from estimating disciplines into a single cost estimate.
• Prepare estimating plans, labor work plans, and basis of estimate deliverables.
• Support procurement, change and claims valuation, and negotiations.
• Interface with clients and internal stakeholders as the primary estimating contact.
• Review designs for constructability and identify risks/optimisation opportunities.
• Provide guidance to junior estimators and mentor team members.
