Job summary

Aplin seeks an experienced Senior Estimator to join a flagship project team supporting one of Canada's most significant infrastructure developments. The role focuses on leading estimating across planning and pre-construction for a $1.5B Chalk River Nuclear Research Facility under an IPD model, collaborating with architects, engineers, and trade partners.

Expect to drive cost estimates, budgets, and pricing strategies, with hands-on leadership of the estimating team and a focus on value

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience in industrial, institutional, heavy commercial, or large-scale construction environments.
• Proven involvement in major projects valued at $1B+ or similar scale and complexity.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and industry-standard estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating activities throughout project planning and pre-construction phases.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with designers, consultants, and trade partners within an integrated project team.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify risks and opportunities.
• Support value engineering initiatives and cost optimization efforts.
• Mentor and provide leadership to estimating team members.
