Senior Estimator role on a flagship IPD infrastructure project two hours from Ottawa, supporting a $1.5B Chalk River facility. This position operates within a GC team alongside architects, engineers and trade partners, delivering detailed estimates during planning and pre-construction.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in industrial, institutional, or large-scale construction estimating, proven leadership, and strong Excel and estimating software skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience in industrial, institutional, heavy commercial, or large-scale construction environments.
• Experience working for a General Contractor.
• Involvement in major projects valued at $1B+ or similar scale.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and estimating software.
• Eligible to obtain Reliability Security Clearance.
• Valid driver’s license and willing to attend site visits.

Our client, a highly respected General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a flagship project team supporting one of Canada's most significant infrastructure developments.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a $1.5B landmark project at the Chalk River Nuclear Research Facility while working within a collaborative Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) environment alongside architects, engineers, and trade partners.

About the Project

• Large-scale project located approximately two hours from downtown Ottawa
• Estimated value of approximately $1.5 billion
• Currently entering a critical estimating phase after several years of planning and development
• Delivered using an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model
• Complex facility combining:
  • Advanced laboratories
  • Office space
  • Fuel research facilities
  • Nuclear hot cells
• Approximately two years remaining on the project, with opportunities to transition onto future major projects thereafter

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating activities throughout project planning and pre-construction phases
• Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and pricing strategies
• Collaborate closely with designers, consultants, and trade partners within an integrated project team
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify risks and opportunities
• Support value engineering initiatives and cost optimization efforts
• Mentor and provide leadership to estimating team members

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience within industrial, institutional, heavy commercial, or large-scale construction environments
• Strong experience working for a General Contractor
• Proven involvement in major projects valued at $1B+ or projects of similar scale and complexity
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to drive results within multidisciplinary teams
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and industry-standard estimating software
• Valid driver's license and willingness to attend occasional site visits
• Eligible to obtain Reliability Security Clearance
• Recent and verifiable residency and employment history strongly preferred

Note:Previous nuclear experience is not required.
