Position: Senior Estimator with a General Contractor Client of Aplin on full time permanent basis.

Location: Ottawa, ON (with on-site visits as needed)

Opportunity Summary:

• Collaborate with Regional Management Team to identify and pursue new market opportunities aligned with regional resources and industry trends.
• Build strategic relationships with stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and government entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support project development to secure projects, ensuring performance, schedule, and profitability targets are met.
• Drive bid strategies and provide preconstruction services such as budgeting and value engineering.
• Manage project setup, scheduling, procurement plans, and risk assessment.
• Oversee project budgets, subcontractor contracts, and project execution plans.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or engineering.
• PQS, CET, or P.Eng designations preferred.
• 10+ years of “hands-on” experience in the capacity of Cost Consultant or Estimator including a full range of project delivery methods including lump sum, construction management, and design-build. This should include direct estimation experience of large commercial, high-rise, civil, and/or institutional construction projects $30M and greater.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
