    We are hiring an EMSL/Core Engineering Technologist in Ottawa. This fully on-site role within our Manufacturing and Operations team involves close collaboration to achieve department goals. Our team includes Production Controllers, Master Schedulers, Shipping & Receiving Specialists, Assemblers, Technologists, Repair & Overhaul experts, and Engineers. If you thrive in a busy manufacturing environment, this role is for you. Tasks include:

  1. Managing inventory, calibration, repair, auditing, tracking, and customer relations for EMSL service requests.
  2. Executing annual calibration events.
  3. Operating, testing, installing, and maintaining test equipment with guidance.
  4. Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on core manufacturing equipment and tools, maintaining system software.
  5. Troubleshooting circuits and equipment from system to component level, including mechanical assembly.
  6. Interpreting schematic diagrams, drawings, parts lists, and quality reports.
  7. Resolving complex technical issues, performing rework, and technical analysis using software tools.
  8. Creating/updating departmental instructions, calibration, and maintenance procedures.
  9. Conducting calibration, ESD testing, audits, maintenance, and equipment testing; documenting results.
  10. Performing other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three-year College Diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Two years of calibration work experience with manufacturing core equipment.
  • Experience with procurement, creating/updating procedures, and system diagnostics programming (e.g., LabVIEW, C, C++).
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Canadian Security Clearance and Controlled Goods Assessment.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada (Citizen or Permanent Resident).
  • Ability to work extensively at a workstation/equipment (60%) and handle heavy carts (>50 lbs).
  • High visual attention and concentration for troubleshooting, data analysis, and calibration.
  • Work in a general office (~25%) and on the production floor for equipment troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and auditing.
